Explorer II MKI Dial & Straight Hand Stainless Steel 1655
This is a pre-owned Rolex Explorer II mki dial & straight hand men's watch reference 1655. It has a 40.00mm case size in stainless steel, with dial on a stainless steel bracelet, powered by an automatic movement. This Rolex is in excellent condition complete with Rolex Box without cushion , Service Pouch , Manuals, Service Papers dated 2010/2015. The watch dates to Circa 1973. Serial Number 350 = 1973.
Bracelet was changed during a Rolex service - date stamped DE/3 = 2001. At the owners request it was changed to a 93150 with flip lock & 585 end links.
Two Rolex Service Centre Cards – Advising full movement services were carried out 27/10/10 & 27/02/15.
The case has been lightly polished in the past, but retains its original strong profile & symmetrical detailing.
The plexiglass is the correct profile with cyclops.

These watches have the nickname ‘Freccione’ meaning ‘big arrow’ in Italian and are sometimes falsely called the “Steve McQueen” despite no evidence he ever owned or wore one.
This one owner Explorer MKII was purchased in 1977 from the Rolex AD in Manchester.
